Baby time

Okay now for baby talk... where do i begin... how does one explain the feeling you get when you look at your jaanooo baby... its the most un-explainable yet natural feeling in the world where you just feel pure love gushing out from yourself and spreading all over you... every little thing he does just seems perfect to me.. he seems perfect to me... the way he looks at me when he wakes up with a smile or a pout, the way he tells me "seeettt down" and sits down in my lap with his favorite george the monkey book so i can read it to him (Which i must have read a million and nineteen times by now but he doesnt get bored!) Motherhood is amazing... My darling S is amazing Mashallah. I love the way he tries to jump on the bed ( he keeps saying jump jump and moves his arms around but isnt able to lift his feet off the ground yet), i love the way he tries to repeat each word he hears and copy all gestures he sees (which can be tricky sometimes :), i love the way he picks up the phone to call his nani or his favorite cousin (who he is obsessed with) and babbles in the most adorable way with the cutest of expressions, i love the way he makes such a fuss to eat anything i give him but if he finds any leftover food on the floor he will happily pick it up and eat it without hesitation, i love the way he knows that late evening we have to go down to the dining table with his dada dadi for dinner and he forcibly makes everyone go down for "khaana" while he sits happily on his high chair, not eating anything but just sitting and feeling happy to see the whole family sitting together, i love the way (and sometimes it even drives me crazy) that he insists on having "otter" (water) from a glass whenever he sees the sight of water but not from his sippy cup. I love the way he keeps reminding me every hour that its "keem time" (cream time) and rushing to open the drawer to take out the "keem" which means i have to cream his entire body (as he has a rash and the dr has told me to moisturize his body 10+ times a day), i love the way my entire car ride to anywhere just consists of us looking for donkeys and monkeys and dogs and goats etc on the road (thank you pakistan), that now even when i am alone in the car and i see any kind of animal i get sooo excited and then stop myself short from screaming out oooohhh donkeyyy! :)
i love the way when hes with his dadi and does potty he will go running to her and pull at his shorts and tell her "potty potty" whereas when hes with me alone he will never bother to do the same! i love the way he goes to the balcony and shouts out "koonn haaaiii" (whos there) in the cutest possible way whether or not he hears the door bell, followed by gaaarrrdddd (guard) kooon haaaiii... i love the way when he wants to go out he goes straight to find my ooopatta (dupatta) and gives it to me to wear so we can go out. i could go on and on...

My husband asked me the other day do i like my life now or my life before the baby and i answered both in different ways for different reasons to which he thought i was implying that my life is not perfect with S. Thats not really what i meant and it got me thinking... now if i had a choice to go back to my previous life obviously i wouldnt because i want S in my life (duh - i know every mom would say that) but all i really meant which i wasnt able to articulate was that yes sometimes i miss the "me" time or "us time" however in the larger scheme of things i would trade in all the me and us time to have S in my life... its totally worth giving it up...
ALso whenever i actually get time to myself like when he goes out occasionally with his dada dadi and im home alone i get bored in a short time and i have no idea what i would do with my time alone at home before he was born... (watch tv, catch up with friends i guess)...

i have to run off now to get some work done... but will be back soon with more baby stories :)
